SENIOR MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST (MLT) Technical Specialist Transfusion Medicine Reference Service This candidate in cooperation with the Supervising pathologist will be assisting in the development of the reference laboratory. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the development and implementation of the required SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) for advanced antibody testing as well as the setting up and overseeing the daily operations of the reference laboratory service for antibody testing in North Eastern Ontario. Candidates must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology program with current professional registration and licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario. All candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of current clinical experience and expertise related to Transfusion Medicine. Reference laboratory experience and expertise to advanced Transfusion Medicine techniques are required. Preference will be given to candidates who possess an ART in Transfusion Medicine or equivalent. Strong Computer skills that include Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Meditech experience will be considered an asset.
