What’s the difference between an individual and institutional member?
The Canadian Society for Transfusion Medicine membership consists of individual members and institutions which are primarily hospitals or health care organizations. This is a growing society of Technologists, Researchers, Educators, Physicians, Nurses, Managers, Administrators and colleagues in industry who share an interest in a wide variety of areas in Transfusion Medicine. The main purpose of this society is to promote the highest quality transfusion practices in Canada.
The CSTM offers members:
v Opportunities to interact with and exposure to, a network of Transfusion Medicine experts from Hospitals, the Canadian Blood Services, Héma-Québec, Research & Development, and others involved in transfusion medicine in Canada.
v Access to web based quarterly CSTM Bulletin, which contains articles of interest and practical relevance to transfusionists, a scientific section, and CSTM news.
v Opportunities to express your views and impact on the changing face of transfusion medicine in Canada.
v Reduced registration fees at the annual CSTM/CBS/Héma-Québec meeting.
v A CSTM website with updated information on the society, information of upcoming meetings of interest, and links to other relevant sites of interest.
v Input into the updating of the CSTM Standards for Hospital Transfusion Services.
v Access to your own copy of CSTM Standards for Hospital Transfusion Services.
v Opportunities for committee membership in the Society.
What’s the difference between an individual and institutional member?
Individual and institutional memberships are available.
Individual members have all the privileges as listed above. Individual members are also invited to attend the Annual General Meeting held during the Annual Conference and have voting privileges at this meeting.
Institutional memberships are available to large transfusion centers. These memberships allow all staff the reduced registration fees at the Annual Conference. They do not allow all members’ access to the Annual General Meeting or access to the ‘members section only’ of the CSTM website. Only one access code will be issued for each institutional membership purchased and one entry and vote at the Annual General Meeting. Institutional membership does allow a copy of the CSTM Standards for Hospital Services for each of the Institutions affiliated sites.
