2021 General Information

Moncton (Virtual
) - Surfing the waves of change

May 13 - 15, 2021

Conference Program

The CSTM Annual Scientific Conference for 2021, as so many other events since March of 2020, has fallen victim to Covid-19.

Moncton NB, famous for the Tidal Bore which is a naturally occurring phenomenon caused by the surging waters of the changing tides in the Bay of Fundy being propagated up the Petitcodiac River; was to be the host city. In 2013, a North American record was set when 2 Californian surfers rode the wave 29 km. Although it appears slow moving, seasoned surfers have described the experience as challenging.

“Surfing the waves of change” was chosen as the conference theme and it appears it was a harbinger of things to come. CSTM 2021 will be the first fully virtual CSTM Annual Scientific Conference. The local Moncton committee is working with the CSTM standing committees in adapting a virtual format to our conference. The Moncton Social committee is also exploring options for some fun virtual events.

Stay tuned as conference details become more focused.
